Safeguarding & Safety

Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils is important at Hartford Infant School. Everyone at school has a role to play in keeping our children safe. Staff and governors are regularly trained in child protection, in line with our Safeguarding policy. Any concerns around a child or family will be dealt with appropriately by the Safeguarding Team & shared on a need to know basis.

The Safeguarding Team:

Mrs Rae Lee Headteacher  (Lead Designated Person, Prevent Lead) rlee@hartfordinfantschool.org

Mrs Vicky McGregor (Designated Person, Mental Health & Wellbeing Lead & LAC Champion) vmcgregor@hartfordinfantschool.org

Mrs Sunetha Diaram Governor (Safeguarding Link Governor) sdiaram@hartfordinfantschool.org

Please contact the school if you are worried about any child in school and we will support you to make the right decisions for a child’s welfare and safety.

Online Safety

In an increasingly digital world it’s important that our students, parents and carers feel that their information is protected and safe. This is why the Trust has a robust Data Protection Policy, which can be viewed here.

With technology developing at a rapid speed our children are increasingly vulnerable as younger and younger they can access the internet in an ever growing number of ways.

Whilst we teach the children how to keep safe on line, it is important that parents and carers know the dangers and also teach them e-safety at home.

If you want further information about how to keep your child safe online please look at the following links. These will provide you with a wealth of information and enable you to report any undesirable sites you find.

The Breck Foundation is a self-funding charity which raises awareness about ‘playing safe’ while using the internet. www.breckfoundation.org

The following websites also help parents and children understand the risks associated with internet use with some aimed at different age groups.
