Religious Education

In Religious Education [RE] we will learn about Christianity, Islam and other principle religions and world views represented locally, nationally and globally, through balanced and well-informed lessons using the Cambridgeshire RE Agreed Syllabus.

In our whole school RE theme days, children will ask and be asked challenging questions about the meaning and purpose of life. They will learn to listen to, challenge and respect the ideas of their peers and others. Children will be encouraged to reflect on their learning and their own lives.

Our children will develop their sense of identity and belonging, enabling them to flourish individually within their communities and as respectful citizens in a diverse world.

The right to withdraw from RE

In England, parents and carers have the right to withdraw their children from RE. We would hope that you would contact us, head@hartfordinfantschool.org in the first instance so that we can discuss concerns and together put alternative arrangements in place to support your child(ren).

You will find more information on the right to withdraw and how to handle an application at https://www.natre.org.uk/
